Volunteers are the backbone of the Wilmette Historical Society and Museum. They support us in so many different ways. Volunteers serve on the Board of Directors, work with the Museum’s collections, organize and staff special events, and help design publicity. Others serve on committees to organize fundraising events, conduct group tours, and assist us with matters relating to the Museum building. Whatever their role, volunteers are highly regarded. A volunteer appreciation event is held each year to recognize everyone’s contributions.
The Museum receives numerous Museum tour requests from schools and youth organizations, and we are currently seeking additional volunteers to help us meet the demand. Docents will receive training and be called upon to conduct 5-10 tours each year. If you enjoy working with children and teaching them about the past, please contact the Museum Director.
To find out about other volunteer opportunities, complete the volunteer form below, or call the Museum Director at (847) 853-7666. She will be happy to talk to you about a volunteer opportunity that will fit your schedule. If you prefer to fill out the form on paper, please download the application and return it to the Museum.
