Summer Scavenger Hunt: Pigs on the Loose!
June 11 - August 13
The Museum’s Summer Scavenger Hunt is back by popular demand! Mr. Loutsch, owner of the last-standing farm in Wilmette, has lost his pigs and needs your help to find them. Head out with your family for this FREE event and enjoy some local history, and embark on a fun search around Wilmette to help Mr. Loutsch. Kids aged 13 and younger can win prizes from Homer’s, Lou Malnati’s, Heroines & Heroes, and Wilmette Bicycle & Sport Shop!
This scavenger hunt can be completed at your own pace from June 11 through August 13. You can obtain a scavenger hunt booklet by coming in to the museum, or by downloading a copy here. When you spot Mr. Loutsch with his pigs at a participating location, get a signature, stamp, or sticker from an employee. If you collect at least 10 signatures/stamps/stickers, bring your booklet to the Wilmette Historical Museum (open Sunday-Thursday, 1:00-4:30 pm) to receive a free ice cream cone coupon generously donated by Homer’s Ice Cream.
If you collect 15 or more signatures/stamps/stickers, bring this booklet to the Wilmette Historical Museum to receive a free small pizza coupon generously donated by Lou Malnati’s and to be entered in a raffle with prizes generously donated by Wilmette Bicycle & Sport Shop and Heroines & Heroes. Raffle winners will be notified after the scavenger hunt has concluded in August.
