The Museum’s Summer Scavenger hunt is back! This year’s theme will center around the 150th Anniversary of the Village’s historic 1874 train depot, which was relocated in 1974 to its current location in downtown Wilmette. Some Wilmette residents need to catch the train at the depot, but have lost their tickets! Head out with your family this summer on a fun and FREE search around Wilmette to find the missing train tickets and enjoy some local history!

The scavenger hunt can be completed at your own pace from June 16 through August 11. Starting on June 16, you can obtain a scavenger hunt booklet by coming in to the museum or by downloading a copy off of this webpage. When you spot the depot at a participating location, get a signature, stamp, or sticker from an employee. If you collect at least 10 signatures/stamps/stickers, bring your booklet to the Wilmette Historical Museum (open Sunday-Thursday, 1:00-4:30 pm) to receive a coupon for one free scoop of ice cream generously donated by Buck Russell’s!

If you collect 15 or more signatures/stamps/stickers, bring your booklet to the Wilmette Historical Museum to enter in a raffle with prizes generously donated by Lou Malnati’s, The Wild Child, the Wilmette Kenilworth Chamber of Commerce, and the Wilmette Theatre. Raffle winners will be notified after the scavenger hunt has concluded in August.

This event is being organized in partnership with the Wilmette/Kenilworth Chamber of Commerce.
